Hebron-William (Bill) Thomas White, 60, formerly of Hebron, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. 

Born at Glens Falls Hospital on February 17, 1958, he was pre-deceased by his father, Archie Quentin White, and his sister, Elizabeth Ann White. His mother, Margaret Slingerland White currently resides in Chestertown.

Mr. White attended school in Salem, Lake George and Colonie.  He continued his education at SUNY Albany and Castleton (Vt.) College, entering the armed services in 1976, he served in U.S. Army in Germany, U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf, National Guard (1980 Winter Olympics) and New York Guard at the State Campus in Albany. His life choices were altered when he sustained traumatic brain injury in a motor vehicle accident at age fourteen, followed by a second motor vehicle accident at age eighteen while in service, and a third at age forty. Each accident caused greater impairments and he eventually became dependent upon a wheelchair. For the past eight years he has been an in-patient at the Stratton VA Medical Center.

Mr. White was a frame-to-finish carpenter, a plaster sculptor, and a photographer. His childhood affinity for fishing carried over to his eight-year in-patient status in the VA hospital where Arts and Recreation made museum and fishing trips part of the therapy programs.

Services will be held in the spring at McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home in Salem, and interment at the family plot in East Hebron Cemetery on Chamberlain Mills Road.
