Morse, a devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 23, 2017. “Libby” was born in Schenectady, New York in 1920 as the only child of Charles and Sara Bateholts. She was predeceased by her husband, an attorney and former District Attorney of Washington County, George S. Morse. She is survived by her four sons, George C. Morse, Richard S. Morse, Peter V. Elizabeth graduated from Simmons College with a degree in Library Science, and started her career as a children’s librarian in Brooklyn, New York. She also served on the board of the Cambridge Public Library for many years.
