Patricia E. Miller

Cambridge  Patricia E. Miller, 74, of School House Way, died peacefully, Friday, June 11, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Miller.

Born Saturday, March 14, 1936 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Arthur George and Muriel (Nietzel) Wood.  Patsy grew up in Kingston and on Long Island.

Patsy and Ed were high school sweethearts.  They eloped while Ed was serving in the United States Navy and were married on January 1, 1955.  They lived in Deer Park on Long Island where they raised their family.

They bought their place in the town of Jackson over 30 years ago and made it their home when Ed retired from the police department 20 years ago.  They spent their winters in Lady Lake, Florida.

Patsy was very artistic.  She made ceramics and did folk art on tin wear and clothing.  She loved being a grandmother and taking care of her grandchildren.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Cambridge.

Along with her husband of 55 years, she is survived by four devoted children, Trisha Calandra of Wading River, NY, Shawn Miller of Holbrook, NY, Chris Miller of Centereach, NY and Edward Miller of Salem, NY; 9 grandchildren, Cristin, Megan, Ryan, Brock, Dylan, Angelina and Danielle Miller and Guiseppi and Jenna Calandra; a great-grandson, Riley Gallagher and two siblings Edward Wood and Mural Fallon.

A memorial service will be held on Long Island at a later time.  Patsy’s ashes will be buried at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
