Peter F. Byrnes

Cambridge  Peter F. Byrnes, 74, of Kenyon Hill Road, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington after a short illness.  He was the husband of Kathleen (O’Connor) Byrnes.

Born Wednesday, May 1, 1935 in Port Chester, NY he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Blanche (Billington) Byrnes.  He worked most of his life as a self-employed painting contractor.

He and Kathy were married on June 28, 1986 and lived in Rye brook, NY.  After retiring, they looked for property in Vermont but found the perfect place in Washington County.  They made Cambridge their home in 2002.

Pete loved living in the country.  He enjoyed working around the house and touring the countryside in his El Camino.

Along with his wife of 23 years, Peter is survived by a sister, Joan Marschall in Connecticut and four nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday,  May 1st, 2010 at 12 PM at First United Presbyterian Church, 13 West Broadway, Salem, NY.  A reception will follow.
